Who is Dr Bourne?As a child Dr. Bourne walked to school in the snow, 5 miles each way, rain, sleet or snow. Her destiny was to become a mailperson. Just kidding... She moved to Florida in 1965 with her parents Sandy and George Webster. Dr. George Webster accepted a position with NASA in the space program as a Bio-Chemist. She grew up in Cocoa, FL and attended Cocoa High School where she was the Valedictorian of her class. After graduating from High school she attended college at the Florida Institute of Technology and once again graduated at the top of her class with a BS degree in Biological Sciences. She attended medical school at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Her internship and residency in Internal Medicine was completed at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She was voted "Resident of the Year" by her peers. She completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in 1997. Dr. Bourne is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Internal Medicine. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has been in practice since 1995 and has been in her own private practice since December 1999. |
